Anyway, SPM is finally over. Well, it was officially over on the 30th November 2011. All those hard work has finally paid off.
Let's see the history of my education.
1999 - My first year in St. Anthony's Kindergaten. To be brutally honest, I still carry my milk bottle around that time. I cried on the first day because I didn't want to be left alone.
2000 - Second year of kindergaten. I still remember vividly what I studied there. Reading, counting, Chinese and Christian teaching. Oh I even learn how to brush my teeth properly. A dentist came and demonstrated. We even get a free toothbrush!
2001 - I entered primary school in SK Kampung Jepak, Bintulu. My first day was .....well not so much different to my first year in kindergaten. I cried too. But this time, silently. I still remember during my orientation, we played some games and I met some friends there. I was placed in 1 Ikhlas. There were 4 classes of every primary level. For Primary 1, there was 1 Ikhlas, 1 Jujur, 1 Amanah and 1 Setia.
2002 - Starting this year, the school had standardized the name of the class. Every primary level, the class' name will consists of Biru, Kuning, Hijau and Merah. I was placed in 2 Biru. I still remember everytime during BM class with Cikgu Ibrahim, he always aimed me to answer his question because ...........I talked the most. I remember I spelled 'topi keledar' as 'topi kalendar' and he scolded me real good.
2003 - I was in 3 Kuning. I remembered many of classmates got lost searching for the class. My class was far from other classes. My class was on the first floor at Block B (Science Lab, Bilik KH, Library). The other primary 3 classes was at Block C .....eh or is it Block A? I can't remember that part very well. Next to our class was a ....'mysterious' room. That room had never been used since long ago. And there was a small hole on the wall. Many said the room was haunted and we can see ghosts from the small hole. I remembered my friends and I tried peeping through the hole and we got caught for walking out of class without permission by our Math teacher, Cikgu Abdul Rahman who is now the headmaster there. He made us stand in front of the class and promised him not to go out from class without permission. And oh, he was also the one who kept matchmaking Chris and I. Overall, primary 3 was like the beginning of my friendship with most of my classmates. We played around the most during primary 3. Well since the class was so far away from the staff room, many teachers came late to teach us. While waiting, we played 'jadi' or throwing the duster to the spinning fan. I remembered I kena the duster when Meon and Zulkifli threw the duster to the spinning fan and they were LAUGHING THEIR ASS OFF!
2004 - My class is still at Block C. During our primary 3 year, there was nobody in the next class. Only at this year, the school put my class (4 Kuning) next to 3 Kuning. Still, we have to wait quite long for the teacher to teach. It was the first year at that time, learning Science. I hated Science that time. It was so hard to understand. But my problem was solved not long when a new teacher came, Cikgu Kevin to teach us Science. He was the best teacher ever! While teaching, he would tell us some story. Mostly ghost story. I remembered during his last day in the school, we told him we don't want to study but instead listening to his ghost story. There was two period of Science. When the period finished, our BM teacher (Cikgu Mahali) came. Cikgu Kevin was unable to finish his third ghost story so he said he would tell the story to us next time. But we kept urging him to continue. The conversation was like:
Us: Cikgu! Sambunglah.
Cikgu Kevin: Macam mana saya nak sambung? Tu cikgu kamu sudah datang. Nantilah cikgu sambung.
Us: Cikgu sambung jak. Apa jadi lepas ya?
Cikgu Kevin: Mana boleh. Cikgu kamu tu kesian tunggu lama lama.
(We looked at Cikgu Mahali)
Us: Cikgu. Tak perlu ajar. Mok dengar cerita hantu.
Cikgu Mahali: Mana boleh tak ajar. Nanti kamu nak belajar apa?
Us: Cikgu Kevin dah mok pergi esok. Please lah cikgu. Lepas habis Cikgu Kevin pergi sukahati cikgu lah mok ajar apa.
(Cikgu Mahali thought for a moment. Looking at us. Looking at Cikgu Kevin)
Cikgu Mahali: Ok lah. Esok cikgu ajar.
Us: YAY!!!! (looked at Cikgu Kevin) Sambung lah cikgu.
Cikgu Kevin: (shook his head) Kamu ni....sanggup tak belajar.
Then he continued his story. The next day, there was an assembly and it was announced that Cikgu Kevin would move to the other school. My friends and I cried at that moment. After assembly, we went to our class and we were still crying. We had to exchange class because after assembly was Moral/Pendidikan Islam period. After that, it was Science period. Cikgu Kevin came to our class and he shared out his feelings to us.
He said, he had lots of fun teaching us Science even though some of us failed our exam recently which includes me. He even said our class was the best class he ever taught. At that instant, many of us were crying including me. We tear some blank pages from our book and asked for his autograph. I still remember seeing his eyes filled with tears. It was so sad at that time and thinking about it now made me cry too.
I MISS YOU CIKGU KEVIN!
2005 - Finally, my class was at Block A! 5 Kuning with the rest of the primary 5 classes at the same block. Mr Wong, our English teacher was also our class teacher! He was very strict with our class' condition. Everything must be clean and well arranged. When we first entered the class, we sat according to our own liking. But then Mr Wong realized we talked a lot when we sat next to our own friend so he changed our seat. I was sitting next to Wence, an innocent looking boy but we argued almost everyday! Well, with his strictness we won Kebersihan dan Keceriaan Kelas almost every week! And during the Merdeka month, we won the best Merdeka Parade and Kebersihan Kelas! Our school was ranked 4th as the most clean schools in Bintulu. Well, Mr Wong your hard work paid off.
2006 - Shocking news!!!!! Mr Wong would not be teaching us anymore! He would continue his studies. WHAT SAD SAD SAD NEWS! When we heard about that during assembly, we cried our heart out. Mr Wong was such an amazing teacher. He made us won many stuff. Nevertheless, we are interacting again through Facebook. He is our best teacher ever. There was also another shocking news. I had to move to Kuching. I announced it to my friends only but they started to spread it around and everyone was like "Lydia pindah?!". Well some, especially the boys, especially Chris was like "Yes! Lydia is gone! I can get number one!!!".
18/07/2006 was my last day in SK Kampung Jepak. Two weeks before my last day, my classmates made a farewell party for me. Awwwwwwww :') terharuuuuu.
On 19/07/2006 I arrived in Kuching. Rest for a day.
The next day, 20/07/2006 I went to my new school SK Tabuan Jaya. There I was placed in 6 Merah. I remembered my class teacher called Shaunica down to show me the way. There marked our friendship. My classmates there are all nice no difference with my classmates in Bintulu. Another shocking stuff! There also I met my long-time-never-see classmate Sollehan. I heard he moved to other school when I was in primary 5. It was shocking to see him there. And he was like "I know you" when he saw me. Overall, my primary school lives was packed with bittersweet memories and fun.
Secondary school experiences .....on the next update!
